Dr. Michael J. Liberman

Dr. Michael J. Liberman, MD, MBA, MBEE is a medical doctor with over 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has vast knowledge in multiple therapeutic areas within the biopharma industry. Currently, he is the Senior Group Medical Director at Genentech, where he contributes to product launches and implements several local and regional projects.

Prior to joining Genentech, he worked at Roche for more than twelve years as the Regional Oncology/Hematology Medical Leader in charge of breast cancer and hematology franchises. During this time, he applied his expertise in several therapeutic areas, including oncology, rheumatoid arthritis, virology, anemia, and transplantation. From 2006 to 2008 he worked as the Product Physician at Pfizer.

He received his Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in 2019. Prior to that, he earned an MBA at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica in 2015. In 2001, he became a physician when he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Universidad Autonoma de Centro America in Costa Rica.

In his spare time, he coaches Little League Soccer in Foster City, and volunteers as a physician at a local rehab clinic in his community to help people overcome addiction.
